In a recent survey posted on this blog, metalworkers favored McCain heavily. Here are 5 reasons manufacturers can be happy with the election results.

1. Democrats have been railing against the loss of manufacturing jobs – now you will find out if they have a solution or just a complaint.

1. The energy industry under the democrats should drive growth in manufacturing in the U.S.. They have eased their stance on drilling and they will be obliged to support their commitment to alternative energy

1. Democrats are now squarely in control of our progress on energy. They claim to understand our need for independence from foreign oil and development of alternative energy, now they have to prove their ability to make progress – not just noise.

1. The republicans have been thrown out for their lack of adherence to the principals that many of you believe in. To get back in the game they will have no choice other than to wake up and walk the talk.

1. There is a big picture here. The USA has just elected an AAfrican American President . If that doesn’t communicate that we are a country that evolves – nothing does. We should all be proud of the good things that happen around us. Tell your kids about this, show them how far we have come in so little time, and most importantly, give this man a chance to prove us wrong – in winning he has done more than enough to deserve that.
